Bible references
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
– Proverbs 21:1
The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.
– Daniel 2:21
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.
– Romans 13:1
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
You are the ultimate authority and ruler of the universe. I pray for the world leaders, that You may grant them wisdom, discernment, and understanding as they make crucial decisions that impact the lives of millions. Help them to govern with integrity, compassion, and justice, putting the needs of their people above their own personal agendas. May they seek Your guidance and be open to Your will as they lead their nations.
I pray for humility and empathy to guide their actions, so that they may work towards promoting peace, equality, and mutual respect among all nations. Help them to prioritize the well-being of their citizens, especially the marginalized and vulnerable members of society. Give them the strength and courage to resist the temptations of corruption, greed, and power, and instead, lead with humility, selflessness, and service to others.
May Your love and grace be a guiding force in their hearts, leading them to make decisions that honor and glorify You. Let them be mindful of the responsibility they bear and the impact their choices have on the world. I ask for Your protection over them and their families, and for Your grace to be poured out upon them as they navigate the challenges and complexities of leadership. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
